Don't misunderstand me, running linux in a VM is far better than not using it at all

I found that wiping the HD and installing Arch linux was the BEST way I could have learned to use linux. First of all, I HAD to get my system configured as I didn't have a backup. It forced me to learn what was going on.
The glass is neither half-full nor half-empty; it's merely twice as big as it needs to be.

i started out with wubi. i downloaded and installed it onto my laptop then it died, i put linux on my desktop that i upgraded and was loving it, i had two hard drives so i downloaded and tried a bunch of linux distro's and stuff.
it was pretty smooth for me but i love learning so it was fun.
