Okay, I've gotten the password, and tested it with the encryption key, and it comes out the same as the password, but for some reason, it says I have the wrong answer.

For reference, my Sam's password was 3::i69l>
My decrypted password was 398f24v7

I believe I haven't done anything wrong, someone help?

Alright I have a basic knowledge of computer security systems, java, unix, solaris 10, and an overall idea of programming....

this is annoying the hell out of me though. I've tried two different ways for the decryptions, both using the ascii table provided in the forums....neither has worked...

I'm going to continue trying T&E but I'm not even really sure this is the right way of going about it.

Hey, if you are using the ASCII(I think) table, you need to notice these 3 things
    1. The position of the character in the code.
    2. The "Dec" number of the charactor
    3. The fact that the first character never changes
With that and some first grade math, it's one of the easiest missions, once you figure it out. Have fun :D

Alright, I found the password, but it says it's wrong. I've put it through the encryption and it gives me the encrypted password that was provided, so I know I have it right. Any help?

How about writing a little Java program which does all the work for you? No need to use any cryptic ascii tables, chars are quite fitting :)
