He used a -3 Caesar Cipher, and typed it wrong.

Total time for me to "break" it: 30 seconds. Approx 10 seconds of frequency analysis, then another 10 to find an N-bit Caeser decipher page on Google, then 10 more to get to a -3 shift starting from -1.

Pro Tip: Listen to these people. It's good that you are learning, but you aren't going to get a gold star every step of the way. If you need help, feel free to ask questions, but posting for the sake of posting gets old fast.
