([msg=44299]see Re: Hotel Wifi, free, but not. Hackable?[/msg])
I'm use to less hacker populated forums, but this is how I'd handle it.
Main topic- Hack the hotel wifi and bypass the proxy
---
Free wifi is always the easiest to hack, mainly because most forums don't allow illegal conversation and cracking and piggybacking off wifi networks is a felony in some states. I don't know a comparable program, but the iNet Pro app for iPhone is a great tool to see just about anyone connected to your wifi network (including mac addresses, open ports). Then use a mac address changer (reccomend Technitium MAC Address Changer) to one of the other computers on the network. If you are really lucky and the hotel is really stupid, just try a secure connection to the websites on port 8080. If not, the first thing I think of to bypass a proxy is use another proxy. Use one that does not connect using ports 80 or 8080. You might have to find one that works properly or quickly enough, but it will work.
Secondary topic- the uncle
---
Really simple, unless you have an ancient router.
Connect to your router, find something along the lines of a "Network" tab or any other display that shows all the people connected to the network. Even on my cheap free Actiontec router from Verizon, I have plenty of options to block websites, websites with embedded keywords, block specific outgoing ports or just cut off all internet connection.
