This Goatse security team has really revealed a huge hole in the IPad.

Seriously, if a company as large as AT&T or Apple is going to get fussy over their shit being buggy, they should do a better job securing it. The Goatse team gave them time to patch it, which is pretty standard in the vulnerability publishing world. They could have just released the program and vuln right away, but they did not. I don't see the problem here.
