With proper English, or atleast an attempt at it, you gain extra respect in my book.

I'm not sure what about "two spaces" you heard but there is only one space in the final answer. Look up Perl filehandles for help.
The glass is neither half-full nor half-empty; it's merely twice as big as it needs to be.

thanks but why o why did the irc moo-help speak about two spaces o_O ?

edit : done you just have to transform the two spaces into one , keeping the same number of characters :D

No, I'm pretty sure there is a little more to it than that, but if that worked you just gave away a complete spoiler and you need to take that down ASAP.

Your post made it sound like all you do is delete a space. Now I see you meant something else.

It's actually pretty obvious. The description is actually a HUGE spoiler. Think about it. If everytime someone writes a log to the file, it gets over-written. Wrong mode, perhaps? In Perl, there are different ways of opening and writing to a file. It all starts with opening it :D

I found this really confusing. "But this log only seems to log one log?!" First "log" was used to describe a file, then it was used to describe a log record/entry. I thought the script was supposed to create multiple log files.

I don't know if I'm the only one who interpreted it wrong, but saying "This script only seems to create a log file with one line" would be a lot clearer.

One thing you have to watch out for: your submitted line can't have trailing whitespace. I copied a line of code from the given, edited it correctly, and then was rejected over and over, until in a fit of hopeless trial-and-error, removed a trailing space that I'd noticed. Then it worked perfectly.

Hello all! This is my first post and I'm new here and don't know Perl BUT I instantly noticed error cause I know C.
But I really can't solve this one. Can I PM someone with line that I think is correct?
Thanks!
