Windows Vistax32 to 7x64

O.k I just won a copy of Windows 7 in a bet between me and a friend but it is Win.7 64-bit... I currently have Windows Vista 32-bit to simply upgrade to 7 can't be done as it has to be 32-bit as well (if i understand right). I have installed Windows 7 on a spare HDD and i runs on my machine, now how can I get it so that it is my main without formatting my main HDD? Could I simply copy/paste the Windows folder from the HDD with 7 on it. And after its done with the move, remove the other "windows" folder that has the Vista files in it? Would this work? Is there even a way to do this safely?

So there is no way to save all my Files, games, pron etc... Other then backups obviously.

if you can get your hands on a 32bit windows 7 version, you can just upgrade it without the nuke of your files

with the windows 7 32-bit? The upgrade programm leaves everything intact, just upgrades your windows from vista to 7, atleast that is what it did at a friend of mine, but he did the upgrade option in the windows 7 installer not the "custom install" one. I've read somewhere however that windows 7 saves your old windows and applications in a map called "windows.old"
your games probably have to be reïnstalled, don't know for sure though
