United States Health Care Bill

No thank you to government controlled health care.....to government controlled anything for that matter. I can see it now:
"What are you in for?"
"I beat a man to near death with a blunt object. You?"
"I don't have health care."

My opinion? Its a terrible piece of crap that only a president as crappy as obama would have thought up. Its going to massively up taxes. Its going to put a burden on our already massive national debt (which itself has grown hugely since obama was put in). Its going to degrade at the quality of health care. It will give the government even more monopoly than they already have. It will run many companies out of business (and companies are what keep the economy healthy). And so much more. Also, I hate how obama is keeping so much secret and trying to just shove his ideas through as quickly as possible. I think obama has done worse things for this country than any past president (probably even all of them combined).

The main thing he has done so far is the bailout. To bailout banks which have already stolen the money of everyone including the government is absurd. If the money from the bailout (well over 200 Billion) was evenly distributed amongst every United States citizen our economy and Americas people would be much better off. That was his first major mistake but if this one goes through it will hurt the american people more than ever before by taxing, providing poor medical care, and imprisoning us. About one third of the people in America right now do not have health insurance.

Thankfully, us "good ole boys" in massachusetts have elected Scott Brown, and as long as he gets into his seat quickly, he's vowed to stop the healthcare bill. Hell, that's the only reason I support him at all, his other policies may be shit, but stopping health-care is the most important thing at the moment.

@Faazshift - The healthcare bill will not cause debt. Also, blaming Obama for the 1.3 trillion+ deficit is absurd (the war on Iraq added immensely to it).

Yes, national health care would mean higher taxes. However, the average american citizen will benefit. Upper-class citizens will benefit the least.

About one third of the people in America right now do not have health insurance.

That's exactly why we need healthcare reform.

i think that the health care bill is a good idea. for the people that worry about spending in debt, historicaly deficit spending has gotten us out of plenty of recessions/depressions so Im all for it. however the felony not to have health care is BS.

@sanddbox: Im certainly not blaming him for ALL of the debt. He has only contributed significantly since he was put in as a result of foolish ideas to recover the economy. If you need to get out of debt, one of the worst things you can do is throw more money at it that you don't have. Also, the bill will either burden the national debt or many across the nation (depending on how much is exacted out of everyone). Either way, its not good for the economy. Do you even have to pay taxes yet? People already work far more than they should have to for the government. Just throwing another huge tax on the pile is not going to help as much as its going to hurt.

See, the bill isn't aimed at shrinking the deficit. The deficit will remain neutral.

The bill is about providing solid, sustainable and affordable healthcare.

Overall, the people that need the help will end up paying less.
