need help with a code...

hello there Sorry to be a bother but i don't know where else should i ask for help in this matter
as a school side-project.... i got this code:

and this hint:

We have a very interesting substance
But we need to hid it, so we do some transformations, in this order:

Filtered using Gadolinium this leads to the coded recipe.
Find the initial substance.

.... been looking for a couple of days for answers... google, wikipedia... ? didn't figure it out

what sounds logical though:
Gadolinium, as a substance... has it's atomical mass 64 => base64

to shorten the search if someone is able to help:
Molybdenum - A = 42, Group 6B, Period 5 (maybe hexa, since group=6)
Helium - A = 2, Group 1, Period 1 (maybe binary?!)

a possible thing that i couldn't test..... get the code --> base64 --> hexa --> binary --> base64 --> text

i ahve no idea where you are coming from whatsoever, and i think i might just give it a try.

I think the way you are thinking is right, take that string of encrypted code, and decrypt with base64, then decrypt with hex, and then binary. It looks just like an ecrypted string, try all different types of decrypytions... A good decrypting tool online is

www.yellowtools.com and check out there Web Design Tools, and look at the encrypter decrypter
will look more into this....

i think you meant yellowpipe.com... anyways doesn't matter...
my big problem is... i really don't know what the 3rd element suggests... its Molybdenum....... it has only three logical numbers assigned.... (A = 42 , group 6, period 5) .... hexa simply doesnt fit in ( besides.... .6 != 16 ) )

yeh i did mean that haha, i get where you are coming from, so basically you have been assigned a string of encrypted data, that comes with a riddle almost, and understanding the riddle is key to understanding how to decrypt the string...? That is so messed and confusing, and i'm really not good with riddles... But i will get more of my mates to look at it and ill post there replies, (the ones i know are good with riddles and chemistry haha)
