Bad advice. Best read about what you're suggesting before suggesting it, friendly friend. In fact, this batch script will only work on NT-based computers, so it won't work in command.com, but it will work in cmd.exe.

Also, grats on solving ebasic10! Now try ebasic11! >:D

Haha, well either you need a new computer, or i have some kind of strange strain of windows installed because i just copy & pasted it in notepad, saved it and it works in both!
(Para not to be taken as abuse/rudeness of any kind, i have a strange sense of humour )

And thanks for the mission, its the only reason i installed windows, and after extb 11 is done, it will be gone again

HALP!

I have downloaded the batch file and created a input that results in me being authenticated and receiving the Welcome aboard message. I have tried all the case variations I can think of but it will still not accept my input as being correct, despite it working with the original bat file. Any tips or someone I could PM my answer to? I can go work on 11 now I suppose!

i got something that works when I run the shell, but HTS doesn't accept it as an answer. I compressed it to be 47 characters and its all lowercase. I think I followed mutantsrus guide

I know not to post the answer here, but I can tell you what it does:
- it completes the if statement with 5 characters
- it sets the input back to empty with 11 characters
- it sets the passwordvalue to 1065435274 with 28 characters
- it comments out the rest with 4 characters including the space at the end to seperate the commentor from the junk code

5+11+28+4+ 2 and operators to link the lines+ 1 space to seperate the if statement from the function

If this is not the right answer, please tell me what I'm doing wrong and how many characters (approximately) the answer is.

Notice this in mission's suggestion.: "your goal is to circumvent authentication altogether".
So, you should make your input perfectly and completely defeat the code.

EDIT: When setting variables, spaces do matter .. solved it.

Note: GOTO:LABEL is VALID but the "right" answer is GOTO :LABEL and in all lowercase. I just spent roughly an hour figuring that out and about 3 trying to figure out why :END couldn't be found ...

I actually tried circumventing that statement like you purposed (switching a statement or two in the submission) and it didn't work for me. Nevertheless, it did work when I changed it where it would display that line of code.
