After some conversion I've landed at a password protected archive. It's only 148b and contains a valid header. Since things have fallen into place so conveniently thus far (as to render an actual archive), I feel like I'm on the right track but have been guessing passwords for an hour now and thought I should ask if this was intended behavior or if it's a result of faulty conversion.

If the protection is intentional should I attempt to brute-force the password or is there some hint that I'm missing. The only clue toward finding a password I see, is the time displayed in the original image and so far my efforts pursuing this have been futile.

Any advice will be appreciated.

bruteforcing isn't a good way to finish it... you will end up with a very-very simple password after you bruteforce it in 8 days

Ok, I've been trying this one for a while and I discovered a few things about the image:
* It is encoded in a special way to allow a file to be stored in it while the original image still looks the same
* The name of the original file was stego17, but the file doesn't seem to be directly written into the image, it seems to be encrypted.

* There does not seem to be anything in the file...
* The technique used seems similar to something programs like Hide in Picturewould use, but I don't know the password.
Am I supposed to bruteforce the password using Hide in Picture or something?
