I really dont understand how any of this is helping the matter at all. The posts here discuss the topic of javascript and have almost nothing to do with help in the mission. How are any of us supposed to figure out how to do it if when we ask for help all we get is.."Java script is useful" well no duh java script is useful it says that in the test requirements. but so is an email address. and i have yet to come to a point where my email is of any use in this mission. please some guidance other then the usual "javascript" slinging.

First, go back to the *very first post* -- viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2917#p19172 -- this one here. Read it. See link in the post? Click on it. Read it. Read it as if you want to learn what it means and how to do it...not as if you are looking in the back of the book for the answer to number 7 on your math homework. Do this one thing and your life will be much easier. You will become wise, and handsome--and you will sing well, too.

so how is this level any different then the one before it? I use an add-on, but I have to use it. imo there is no difference between 4 and 5... is that correct or am I cheating in some way?

Specific questions... but without spoilers. That makes it difficult but apologies if any of it does come out as a spoiler.

I read the hint on javascript injection at: http://nexodyne.com/archive/index.php?t-14736.html and figured it out, but I was curious how to do it in HTML as well without using javascript.

When injecting javascript, there is no need to set the referrer because you are doing it from the right referrer already.

But, when editing the webpage and loading it on my own, I understand that what I need to do here is change the referrer variable, but I am not sure exactly how that variable is defined. I can change the "to" value by editing it in the file and that will change the email address that the password is sent to, but I saw nothing to show me as to what variable I need to change to alter the referrer's address.

Am I simply not searching the file well enough?

Are you using firebug for Firefox? If not give it a try and in the simplest of methods. If you are using it, then I think you are searching the file too much. Also you said "When injecting javascript, there is no need to set the referrer because you are doing it from the right referrer already." Think about that...

I've done this mission on a couple other accounts (previous ones where I've forgotten the login names and passwords XD) anyway...I always seem to forget exactly what I'm doing. Then I get lucky. Therefor I look at it like this: I don't really know what I'm doing. I haven't really grasped injecting Javascript, so I'm trying to stick to HTML even though I know that's the long way...Any slight suggestions? Just a nudge in the right direction. :)

I understand if you can't though. Definitely a fun challenge.

I have been trying to get html editing to work on my mac lately but whenever I save the file and try to open it again in firefox it just shows me the script. What am I doing wrong? This is how I've done it ever since I learnt basic HTML.

dywlkr184,

Understandable. You need to make sure you saved the file in its correct extension.
A few ways you can edit and save a file:

- How about duplicating the file instead?
- Firebug

Monica,

What do you mean by duplicating the file? The actual file I save and try reposting or what? I'm kind of new to this whole thing but I'm getting the hang of it.
