Fan or not, it's something you should try to learn and can be very useful, especially in later challenges, but this one doesn't require it, it's just one way of doing it. Read through a few of these posts and it should give you enough ideas to complete it a different way.

ok i really dont understand what i am supposed to be doing here. well with this one it doesnt work. What am i missing please even a little warm or cold would help. i really dont want to keep trying this path if i am way off. so please tell me if i am close. or is it similar to test 4?

the mod hint is very usefull... hte key is there but we must use javascript. btw is there any way to pass this level using only notepad????

Javascript isn't necessary but it is an option. You can try with notepad if you choose or other methods hinted to in this forum.
