If you're looking to edit javascript while a page is open use 'Firebug' an addon to Mozilla Firefox.

Can't be arsed to get a link so google it :P

you dont need console to doit,
joust type your code in the url bar, but fist jou need to type javascript:

so in the url bar it look like this:

javascript: you code goes here;
hit enter and voila...

yep, called a javascript injection, to test enter thins into your url and hit enter to get it working for you:

You Need To Get "FIRBUG" Add-On For FIREFOX & Open Any Page You Wanna View It's SOURCE, Right Click AnyWhere, At Bottom There Will Be "Inspect Element with FirBug", There You Go :) !
