Site idea

Hey all.
Im not to sure if this is the right section for this if not sorry =|
Anyway its just a website idea that i was thinking about making.
Basicly the site would be for people who like to make there own music or remix songs and what not.
So my basic out line for the site would go something like this.
Make an account.
once you have an account you can upload your own songs and what not.
And then you can listen to others songs and vote on them
Who ever has the most votes every week wins and its just like a big comp to
see who is the best music creater.
What do you guys think?
I do know programing btw if you guys thinks its a good idea and not a total waste of time. I will be coding it in python circuits .
And if it does go ahead if anyone wants to help out just ask ill be happy to get some help =]

Seems like an interesting idea. If you have the time and patience to go through with it, I think it'd be pretty cool.

However, if you do go along with it, group stuff into genres. Otherwise, you will have mostly hip hop/pop and the occasional electronica song on top, while all other genres will probably always still in the pits.

Thanks. I think that i will be able to go through with it, what would you think would be easyer to make the site in?
Php or python? im just learning php but I know python quite well and have made sites before in python.

Sounds like a cool idea.
Don't know if PHP or Python would be better, me myself have only used PHP.

Anyway, I'm willing to contribute in ways of writing the HTML / CSS if you need help. Just PM me!

Oh, and I have 5+ years experience of html + css and 2+ years of php & mysql. So I wouldn't call myself a newbie
