HTS Signatures

I've been messing around with some graphic designing software. But i decided that i wanted to make some sort of signature for HTS. I was wondering, what do some of you guys use to make your logos? How do you go about making them?

I've never made myself a nice sig/avatar, simply because I don't really find it all that essential, but that being said, I'm guessing the majority of people do one of two things:
1: Grab photos, use a image manipulation program to blend parts of them together, recolor, etc.
2: Grab a background photo or two, use some software similar to inkscape (Vector graphics design stuff) to make a cool logo, and finish it up with some blending/blurring/retouching with GIMP or Photoshop.
I never had the patience or artistic talent to ever make something decent though xD.

Yeah i've never really had the kind of patience to do that kind of stuff on the computer. Everytime i get started i just end up scrapping it.

4. Steal liberally.
Check with some gamers... http://arpwn.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=36 there are a few topics there that cover basic steps to building a sig.. along with a few sigs that look pretty good.. and yes.. that's my website that I'm shamelessly promoting.
