Pain in the ass

Using this site is a real pain in the ass... Registration was frustrating, logging in took forever because of stupid errors. I remember when I first used this site, like 3 maybe 4 years ago, it was pretty simple. Now it's just ridiculous. The password must have a unique symbol? Since when has that ever been a requirement on any site registration ever? Registering and logging into the forum was confusing. It asked me to fill out a field, and there was nothing. So I kept on clicking submit until it registered. Then I logged in.

Other than that, great site. 8-)

Personally if the site doesn't require a special symbol, I would consider it to be less secure. You can't count on the users to make strong passwords.

I also had these problems with registration and login, and yes, it is really annoying.
But that's still no reason to get upset like that. The bug with the missing name field in the forum registration is already acknowleged and is being worked on (or so I hope ;) )

it's built in this fashion for a reason, before even getting to mission #1 - the idiot test, you must prove your ability to continue by actually signing up.

In regards to the timezone issue, www.hackthissite.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=8356.
In regards to your password problems, the way HTS has it set up makes it more secure. Like tgoe said, wouldn't want you being the victim of a "cracker". And no that is not the somewhat racial slur toward white people.

Sorry about that. I've been working on smoothing out rougher parts of the sites where necessary. Hopefully registering on the forums is a little more intuitive now.
