Hello,

I got a general problem while I try to use FF on the site.
I can't log me in to the forum or the mainpage ... I always get this notice

Invalid Referer

Invalid referer. The requested URL /user/login will not be loaded.

At the moment I'm logged in with Chrome.

Sorry for possible failures in the text. I'm from Germany and it's 4 am ~_~

Do you have RefControl or anything that might block the referrer?(Privacy Plugins, Web Dev Plugins, etc?)

The referrer is used to avoid CSRF attacks though it is a fail protection since many proof-of-concept were able to spoof it. Maybe Bren could look into laxing some of the referrer control. :)

Bren has no subversion access to the main site (he's a recode dev), nor do I really have confidence in his ability to fix it in the first place.

The entire strict referer enforcing makes little sense anyway.

Maybe AdBlock+. Can't tell.

@sanddy, isn't it just tweaking/removing the (referrer == site) ? work() : die(); ?

I have the same problem. This is down to incompetence on the part of the developers.

What Wells meant is that the issue is on our end. You would need to clear your internet cache/cookies. It should correct the issue.

I do realize that this thread is old, but i still have the problem making me believe that no one solved it. I tried deleting every cookie, cache, historic,etc... did not work, i tried private browsing. did not work.

Am I the only one, since apparently you recommend firefox. I do find it ironic though. :geek:

Anyway i'll continue using safari, but some useful add-ons are not available.
Any Idea?

Cheers

You should be good with using Firefox and clearing your cookies. You could try visiting http://hackthissite.org/?logout. Or make sure you're deleting them all with ccleaner or something of the sort.

Possibly I missed it reading through, but have you disabled all add-ons and tried to log in?
