I'm sure its been brought up before, but would it be possible for live cd's of HTS challenges? It would be fun to boot them on small LAN's with no Internet access at lan parties to see who has the real skills without using google. Or simply to have on long road trips for something to do.

Thanks.
Jei

I definitely haven't heard this request before (not being sarcastic).

Make your own version using WAMP Server and Hamachi together. That is if your good at coding in PHP or Perl.

I was going to put my own together, but wasn't sure if it would go against the terms of service of HTS "Do not duplicate or recreate this site in whole or part" type thing.

I thought about trying my hand at making something with autohotkey, all the functionality without needing a web server.

I'll keep updating if anything comes of it.

I see no problems with it, but you're probably going to have to code it yourself seeing as how I'm guessing you're only downloading the HTML files.

You may want to try to get Debian and Damn Vulnerable Web App.
Burn them into a cd with Apache2 Web server and PHP. You are all set. :D

Yeah I'd re-code them myself, the HTML isn't going to get me much especially for the php/mysql stuff. If I get even the first level setup I'll post about it here. Maybe others will be interested in helping once some of the ground work is laid.

Thanks for all the positive feedback, I may have found my winter project to keep me sane.

thetan, what about people going and searching the source for answers?

I would apply. It is just that I don't have the technical level to get a Dev position.

Same boat, you and I. Not so much a lack of willingness to contribute, as it is a lack of knowledge and ability.
