So I fully realize that I am a noob. But, why firefox 3 and not chrome? And will using Chrome make things more difficult?

Chrome is beta.
It's a good concept, but it's slower on Windows than on Linux because of the overhead involved in process creation on Windows.
Sadly it doesn't exist currently for Linux (not stably anyway).
When it arrives for Linux I may get it as a second browser but for the moment I'd stick with Firefox.

You don't need permission to PM me for help but wouldn't a forum thread be better?

Do you mean because of the multiprocessor browsing? And will using chrome make the basic and subsequent missions more difficult?

Is Chrome beta?
I thought it was long time since it only existed a beta, I actually think I am using a final release right now.

For Linux there still is no final version, but the beta is at least stable on my computer, even if it isn't totally bug-free.
And even if Chrome is slower on Windows than on Linux, it is still much faster than Firefox. ^^

I don't think it will be any problems doing the basic missions with Chrome, no.

Thanks for the help. I am fairly certain that only the newest version of chrome is beata on windows, not a clue about linux. But, this is google. Gmail was in beta for like what three years?

With ff 3.5, javascript parsing caught up with chrome in speed. Besides that, ff is fully extensible, where chrome is not. Firefox makes web development extremely easy. Chrome is not that developer friendly (yet). Chrome is a good browser (certainly far better than IE, and better than most other options), but if you plan on doing much more than just browsing web sites, firefox is superior. Also, chromes massive threading leaves a large memory footprint. I sill like firefox best.

The only thing I miss in Chrome is good add-ons, the add-ons (so far) suckz.

Talking about doing other thing than just browsing, chrome as a element-inspector (like firebug) which is decent at least for my needs. Well, I have not used Firefox and Firebug for a long time, but I think Chrome got at least the vital parts of it, without add-ons.
