Cirque Du Freak

Cirque Du Freak is a vampire series, generally targeted for younger kids, but I enjoy it just as well. Has anyone every read any of the books? Unlike Twilight, it's less fairy-tale esque and is actually quite compelling.

Hmm, i remeber a couple of years ago i read a series about this kid who becomes a vampire to help his friend or sumthing by vampire blood transfusion and he has to do these vampire trials and everything and then these purple vampires come in to the story as the bad guys lol- same books?
