That's not what he typed. He most likely put in irc.hackthissite.org:7000 or irc.hackthissite.org/7000 (Xchat). (+7000) is just what it shows when trying to connect.

See , what im wondering is that how u type it out in IRC because the way im doing it is

File>Select server>Under connect i go to server>Add>

Code: Select all

Descripiton>Hacksthis
IRC Server> irc.hackthissite.org
port> 7000

Yeah, I just tried it from my end. SSL seems to not be working for me as well.
Port 6667 seems to work fine.

I am not sure, as different IRC clients are not the same.
For Xchat, just do what I did in the pics below..
When xChat boots up choose add network and edit it as follows

IRC has been messing up lately, it is being worked on.

Try connecting to one of the non SSL ports; it seems to be the SSL port giving out the errors.

What IRC client are you using?
Also, are you on a Linux or Windows os.
