To identify yourself with nickserv, you have to be registered first. If you are not getting a registration code in your e-mail after registering, then you will not be able to identify with nickserv.
To register with nickserv, start a private chat with the bot. Dependng on your IRC client this could change but some of the most common methods are:
Once you establish a pm with nickserv you can type 'help' for a list of commands. To gain more information on a specific command use 'help command' For example 'help register'
To register your nick, simply send
register email-here password-here
nickserv should then send a verification code to your e-mail address with the steps to complete the verification process.
After this process is finished and you are registered, you can identify yourself with nickserv using:
While in pm with nickserv and on the nick you registered.
