Forum avatars work. But oddly.
To get your avatar on the forum you must go to your HackThisSite.org profile, right click on the avatar and click on "get image location". Then set that as your forum avatar.

UPDATE:
To update your forum avatar just go to user control panel >> profile >> avatar and click submit. Nothing more than that is needed.
