C++ Platform

Ok, trying to download Microsoft Visual C++ but keep getting {"Could not resolve mscorlib for target framework '.NETFramework,Version=v4.0'. This can happen if the target framework is not installed or if the framework moniker is incorrectly formatted."} I'm still a nub and have no idea what the issue is with this thing but its pissing me off haha. If any one knows a dumbed down answer to fix this or knows a better C++ Program I can download and use I will love you long time =) Not even to the hard part of learning C++ and already stumped =p
Thanks

Sounds to me like you don't have .NET 4.0 installed.

Here's the link to download it.

Sorry it took so long to reply. Finals this week. I already have .NET 4.0 installed but i deleted and reinstalled it anyway with no luck. I also already tried to run as administrator but tried again after re-installing .NET 4.0. Still no luck, thanks for the help though. Any other suggestions?

Also, for whatever reason I was able to download C# and it works perfect! So that's always good. Can any one tell me the major difference between the three types of C/C++/C#? I know most programming is done in C++ from what i have read. Would it still be just as beneficial to start with C# to learn? Eventually backtracking to C/C++ when I figure out what the issue is?
