How do you know if your a pro hacker?

like say if I comeplete all the missions will I be a pro hacker? lol

what kind of things do I need to know to be a good hacker ?

for someone who knows nothing about computers how long will it take them to become a pro?

so far i did level 1 and 2 really quick and i dont really know much about html lol

level 3 i watched a youtube video to find out how to do it loll

level 4 i did pretty quick by myself

and im on level 5 lol

a pro hacker is someone who earns money with hacking, such as a penetration tester, I think you mean elite hacker, well that's the very top with years of experience, so I think nobody will be one soon when he's just starting off.

Well, I wouldn't consider anybody who hacks for pleasure a pro or elite. I wouldn't consider people on hts pro hackers (99.9% of them anyways) just because they completed most/all missions, certainly not myself. I guess you can call yourself pro when you get paid to hack as mentioned above.

I don't consider most of HTS, including myself, pro hackers. May be a few on here. People to watch out for are script kiddies who say they are pro but know nothing outside of programs they downloaded off the internet. I guess as mentioned above, if you can get paid for hacking you're good enough. Would still further education no matter what, however.

I'd like to think that people on HTS are more semi-pro than skiddie or elite. Being that, our focus leans more toward the white-hat, pentesting, general knowledge - therefor working in the sec. side of the industry. At least from my perspective a lot us are technically 'pro' or working to become such, as we are either employed as developers, programmers or sysadmins (like me). Of course i'm anciently aged compare to most of you.. and I was being the wannabe elite skiddie 20 years ago.

So to answer the OP. Q: How do you know if your a pro hacker? A: When you don't have to ask questions like that anymore.

I like that. And it's true. Me personally, I'm trying to make the jump from sysadmin to programmer. Slow pace though since I only learned so much in college. Now it's all self taught.

It's tough, I'm a web developer and by default - being at a small company, I also literally got thrown into sysadmin when the previous one left. Between that and personal life, leaves spare time for self teaching. That's why I love HTS.
