It makes perfect sense. The world is flat. How else can they fit it on a map? And its two dimensional plane must terminate somewhere. God was smart enough to realized that area would be used more efficiently if the earth was put on two triangles in the form of a square, than if it was on one big triangle. Thus, the world has for corners.
