Looking for mentor

Hey i have just started. i've always been into computers and i love creating websites. i've managed to get to basic level 7 without anyones help. i'm now stuck on level 8 but am sure i will pass it eventually with alot of studying and research. i am looking for someone to be my mentor to teach me in's and out's of hacking and computer programming. it's not part of my job, i just really enjoy it i know html and a little javascript. i know basic unix commands and i am willing to work hard and learn! any help would be greatly appreciated

We get this response a lot, and here's my usual response:
Nobody really mentors anymore. The things you see in movies like Hackers and The Matrix where someone comes in and saves the day are just Hollywood. It takes a lot of self-dedication and long nights Googling to learn anything. While some people are here to help (us, for example), I don't think anyone will personally teach you from the ground up.
