No one is going to "take you under their wing."

If YOU want to learn, YOU put in the effort. Go to basic mission 1 and try to pass it. If you can't then read through the forums. Don't post a question in the forums until you have read through ALL of the thread relating to the challenge. IF you do post, make sure to specify EVERYTHING you have tried to do.

EDIT: BTW, that kind of spelling makes you look like a tool.

Sure. You should start with hacking a few servers - facebook and myspace would be a good place to start. Taking them down should be simple - usually all you have to do is crossinterface their open ports with some simple C-Ware. Then you can start learning how to hack government servers - start with the easy stuff like street lights (you can access these from any Department of Defense computer) and then move on to hitting the power grids (again, simple, you should be able to do it once you compromise an FBI computer). Make sure to always use an SMTP-based proxy (FTP proxies are easily trackable) and if someone is trying to loop your pingback address, use a smurf bypass.

That should get you started. Good luck!

Not to mention the double transforming encryption algorithms that are easy to reverse engineer. Making a couple honeypots and SymNets should help you out.

And make sure you're running Windows Vista. XP is out of date and Windows 7 hasn't been tested enough. Most hackers use Windows because it is very popular and stable. Far more secure than linux- I mean, what do you expect from something that's free!

Careful, he might believe you. You may want to add a </sarcasm> or just let him screw himself over.

It's alright, I think I'll go with the just let him screw himself over approach.

I proudly use Windows 7...I'll switch over to GNU/Linux occasionally but I use Windows for most normal browsing, etc.

EDIT: And yes, I say GNU/Linux just so Richard Stallman won't put me on his hitlist when he takes over the world.

Yeah, I've heard that windows 7 is pretty good- that's why I sarcastically advised against it. Windows really isn't as bad as so many people make it out to be, it just depends on the experience of the user. I use it for most of my music/photos/other media. By the way, Richard Stallman's already taken over the world, the microchips he installed in our brains just stop us from realizing it.
