Question about ollydbg (or similar)

([msg=2692]see Question about ollydbg (or similar)[/msg])

How I can put a breakpoint in the code handling the "button pressed" event of a modal dialog based app? I want to solve some puzzles of the "Application missions" section and I think that programs like "OllyDbg" can help me but my expertice using that kind of debuggers is null.

Thank you very much in advance.

Sorry if you don't understand my bad english.

Hm. I haven't done many of these (only the first three) but I think I managed them with just a hex editor

Thank you very much hex_wannabe. I have done only the first one using a hex editor. I have not tried the others. I did the question because I not know how to do that (if necessary in the future).

Thank you again. Do you understand my english? I'm afraid of being writing like Tarzan.

You were doing quit well till the end there :D
I'm pretty sure I only used a hex editor for all that I did, but I haven't got to far in them yet. If you find some good tutorials would you mind posting links to them here? I'd like to move into these.
Thanks dude

I used OllyDBG for some of the later ones where the password isn't hard-coded into the program... I found it fairly straightforward to use once i'd got the hang of it.
A knowledge of the way programs run is really useful... as is the fact that a lot of the app. challenges are coded in VB.
