Targeted Hactivism/Intel Gathering

couple days without sleep but i'll do my best and edit later.

i've been looking around for a while now and found plenty of good tutorials for beginners on hacking networks, web apps, web sites, embedding RATs in files, and more in the same vein, but almost nothing on attacking specific PCs.

my questions are:

how best to target specific, individual PCs.... say, running sometimes patched Vista with McAffee or ZoneAlarm or what have you behind a standard home router and firewall?

when you're in how best to gain remote access to passwords, webcam, screencaps, and files?

assume that you won't be able to send them files packed with trojans but can lead them to your website. what tools and methods are best suited to such a situation?

thanks,

J

Props to this kid for keeping it in a hypothetical sense.

thanks and pardon the skiddyish question. i was just thinking websites are great for publicity and doing damage but the ripest low-hanging fruit, what the military would call "actionable intelligence", has got to be on laptops on the kitchen counter.

i set up a test reflecting the above scenario at my father's house and logged into gmail from the laptop in question. this gave me its outward facing ip. i've run nmap against it and it gave me some ISP info that appears useless and reports that only port 4567 is open and that it's "tcpwrapped".

while i am obviously no expert on these matters, it appears to me the most viable attack would be a website with either a browser exploit or some embedded media with an exploit allowing arbitrary code execution. this arbitrary code would be a downloader that downs a RAT and runs it, reversing back to a dynamic DNS service which i then connect to through a chain of proxies.

am i on the right track? EDIT: is there a simpler way to do this?

thanks,

J

i thought a forum founded by politically motivated black hats would be the place to go for this sort of know-how and those wanting to see it proliferate...... come on, now....? someone, please...

someone give me something to work with. either advice on the scenario or advice on asking a more intelligent and informed question that will illicit a response.

Hey, from what I've seen, the only vaguely intelligent people ignore the NZone like the plague, and this question is more intelligent than most I've seen in the real forums where the actual hackers reside. If I were you I'd combine your 2 posts here and post it in the windows section or whatever seems to fit your question the best.
