Just finished and I am still wondering what the hint on the first page was. Can anyone elaborate?

This post is for anyone who is having problems with this mission in the future. Everything you need to know is right here in this thread so I'm not going to go over ever step involved.

There was one part, in particular, that i had problems with and it was on one of the error pages. You'll notice a script pop up... try and read what that program is doing, specifically the "GET" method. *hint* It's adding on to the "tao"... but how?

For those of you who don't know what tao is, I recommend looking up Confucius.

I finished this mission two times, but I don't get your hint on Tao. I think I know what it should represent, but I can't connect the dots to the mission itself. Could you elaborate (maybe in PM when spoilers might be given)?

I solved this....

But in the course of doing so... I came across extra "stuff". I wasn't able to make much of it, but wondering if anyone has discovered more than one path to success on this challenge?

Without any spoiling hopefully, I found some "old" things, and maybe an "old" password, but wasn't sure if this was relevant to the challenge or not. From my experience so far on these challenges, there are definitely sometimes extra things out there, but some previous challenges also have more than one solution.

Perhaps PM me if you know what I'm referring to, and whether you were able to solve the challenge by going down that path.

I'm stuck on this mission. I'm at the point where I get this file P*.??? and within it are two hashes.

I've tried passing that file to jtr and it's still chugging away at it (I think). How long is this supposed to
take?

I've also tried to take the two hashes and placed them on two separate lines using bogus user
info: i.e.

foo:<hash>
bar:<hash>

and running it through jtr.

Am I doing this wrong?

Edit: Ok, jtr failed. used C&A. got both the username and password.

Went to the hidden login url but entering the username and password in it
produces an "Incorrect Username/Password".

I tried both 'login' pages.

Nvm. got my username and password mixed up for the hidden login page.

Mission accomplished.. though I thought I was supposed to remove the site. I basically
just logged in as admin. That's it?

It was quite a time ago when I last did this mission, but basically, if it says "Mission accomplished" than you're done.
