Like I could see that there is this "modify" button, but when I get rid of the comment code and see the modify button, I click it and nothing happens.

Look at the page source, where is that button supposed to lead you?
Instead of clicking the button to change the grades, go there manually.
Just take a look at the page source, it may give you some idea, hope this helps (:

I used Firebug to change the cookie value of s****** from 0 to 1, if you get what I mean.
