What's the reason for existence?

What is the nature of existence?

Well, in my opnion, this "reason for existence" thing is just some cultural heritage we herded from the judaic-christian influence.

There's really no reason to have a reason to exist. Life justifies life by itself.

I mean, cience and mutual sharing has given us a new way to face life, a realistic one (at least we think its real)... we dont need to cling to those old dreams anymore.

i imagine we exist for the same reason any life exists.
to find the answer to "what purpose do i serve", is to have your ego balloon raped by a pin cushion.
the real questions are:
why even ask the question why?
and
do you really want to know the answer?

I believe we exist for reasons beyond our mere comprehension or control. We live, we breathe, we continue to thrive because we want to understand the universe and all its secrets. We exist to expand our knowledge about the infinite void that is our home.

According to nature/science the only reason is to procreate. I will neither deny nor confirm whether I agree with nature. I will say this: creating anything (whatever it is) makes a person unique and shows you lived.

Reason for existence. Three words that can evoke such an endless maze in our minds. Or three hieroglyphs etched on a wall, falling apart in the wind, thousands of years after the last man in the universe died. One man once said that death is not the opposite of life, the living being only a species of the dead, or something like that. I think it's very selfish to think there is a reason for you to exist. We are just tiny gears in this huge machine. And nature didn't creature us, she's just as lost as we are in this cold vastness of space. If we do survive beyond Earth, we might not ever again encounter anything closer to us than a tiny plant or a bug from this planet.
to be continued... :S

I don't believe there is any actual meaning to life. The building blocks of Life started with the Big Bang, and ended up here, through the explosion of stars, the combining of atoms in certain patterns, evolution, natural selection, etc. Though, I will give in to the idea that we give life a personal meaning(subjective), though we can still have it as no meaning.

However, I will say, that a purpose of life is to experience. We, humans, are an extension of the Earth, which is therefore an extension of the Universe and Nature. We also have the ability of self-awareness. We are able to be aware of our experiences. We are humans, an extension of Nature, living in Nature(Nature and the Universe being one and the same). We are Nature experiencing Nature. We are Natures way of experiencing and discovering itself.

As a scientist once said "We are atoms learning about ourselves."
