are you activist

i am just wondering how many of you consider yourselves activists

my definition of activist

1. willing to put forth time and effort for a cause
2. willing to go without something in order to help a cause
3. willing to risk important things for a cause


examples:

1. protesting/campaigning/writing letters
2. some English went without sugar in order to protest the slave trade
3. some Germans risked life to help the jews during (WWII)

Well, yeah, but that definition is kind of vague.

Maybe someone's cause it to protect their children. They'll put forth time, they'll go without food, and they'll give up their lives for their children, but they're not activists.

I think activists are people who feel strongly about a political issue and take steps to make the change they want to see.

Examples:

(Inside the United States)
Tea-Partiers (imho these people just want an enemy to have. They act as if the government is one giant enemy, even if they don't know why they are angry)

I'd probably consider myself liberal. There's a need for reform in some places, but I'm not about to pull a Jeremy to have it.
