Does anybody have one? I just got a Das Keyboard (with Cherry Browns) and it's an incredibly sexy typing experience. I don't think I'll be able to go back to a normal keyboard.

Most keyboards have keys with little rubber domes that conduct electricity underneath the key. You press the key to compress the rubber dome create a short circut and your key stroke is created. Mechanical keyboards each key uses a electrical switch to do the same thing. The result is the keys are way easier to press and makes it 100,000 times easier to live with. Plus they last longer.

VPR summoned it up - mechanical switches are pretty much just far superior. Instead of having to be pushed down all the way, they only have to be pushed half way, make an audible click (so you know you pressed it + it feels amazing), and rise back up extremely quickly.

Basically, they're just way higher quality. I would write a lot more, but this post pretty much sums up everythingyou need to know about a mechanical keyboard.

I can max my typing out at 145 WPM now too!
