I've used various Distros with this laptop, same thing every-time however. I guess I'll just stick to my USB adapter until it becomes better supported in a later kernel.

ive got a ASUS m51sn Laptop, got it pricey: $1800 AUD but use it for another things to

im running xp/ubuntu (linux?)
4gb ram(3gb for xp), 2.5ghz dual-core, 15.4inch wide, 320gb HDD

runs quite alot of things, and does the job.
so if you can invest in something like that its worth it, unless you dont do other things with it
