Most sites will lock you out after a certain number of attempts, and as was mentioned, captcha's are placed on pages to prevent such crap. If you manage to download their entire SQL database, then you can perform a brute force attack against it.

I'd say, - in the end - brute-forcing is quite an inefficient way of hacking, unless you use rainbow tables or other methods that differ from the original brute forcing technique; a, b, c, aa, ab, ac, etc...

And...uh...doesn't brute forcing take, like, years?
Or is that just a myth?
Regardless, using a program someone else made is being a script kiddie, and that's just sad.

It depends on the encryption. Some are easier to crack than others. It also depends on the password.

There's a hash you have to decrypt in one of the realistic missions by brute force. It takes roughly 5 seconds. Another hash could take 5 years using the same method.
