Forum experience?

Just curious, what kind of forums do you guys have experience with? Does anyone here have their own setup? Or maybe just a forum that you've seen before that you thought was fancy. If so, let us hear it. I'm curious to see what kind of forums everyone's used to, besides phpBB of course. Though that does seem to be a pretty standard 3rd party setup.

This may just be because I'm a minimalist, but I really dislike the big buttons and metallic like structures surrounding the border of the forum. A nice simple anything is always better in my opinion. However, that's once again, just my opinion.

@OP: I've always loved the OSDev forums (http://forum.osdev.org/) primarily because they make excellent use of screen-real-estate. However, they're also using phpBB, so I assume that's just an option/theme somewhere.

Personally, I prefer Reddit style user content organization. I also think it'd be really beneficial for the mission threads as they would be sorted by most useful, etc. Of course, probably leave "Karma" out of it.
The glass is neither half-full nor half-empty; it's merely twice as big as it needs to be.
