.htpasswd help

([msg=55735]see .htpasswd help[/msg])

i used.htpasswd in the {www.site.com/file/.htpasswd} format and it was succesful. Although I found files I was looking for, it prevented me from accessing them. I got an error. I'm trying to keep people from further getting into anything.
Code: Select all
Access forbidden!

You don't have permission to access the requested object. It is either read-protected or not readable by the server.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Error 403

3/29/2011 7:02:06 PM
Apache/2.2.17 (Win32) mod_ssl/2.2.17 OpenSSL/0.9.8o PHP/5.3.4 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.1

If anyone knows any further steps on bypassing this, please let me know. thanks!

I personally have not heard of a way to bypass that. It's basically how the server software is built that keeps it protected. Of course, if you find a vulnerability in the server, you can try and get at it.
The glass is neither half-full nor half-empty; it's merely twice as big as it needs to be.
