I am curious if it would be possible to add a indicator guide. I know some of the indicators, red means new post, grey means no posts, translucent with a dot means you read it, but what the hell does a red lightning bolt mean? Hot topic?

I am not sure, however by looking it seems to be a topic that has recieved a lot of posts...
Seems to be topics with at least 4 pages of posts...

Also, it would be considered a legend, not a key index...

Red means you haven't read the latest post yet. Grey means you have. The dot indicates that you've posted on that topic. The lightning bolt in fact does indicate that it's a hot topic. It's nothing special. Just fancy stuff.

Cool. So curious as to what the green plus mean?

Not 100% sure, but common sense says that it is a forum section that holds subforums inside of it.

i.e.
Lectures > Audio/IRC Downloads || OFFICIAL Lecture Approvals
Operating Systems > Microsoft Windows || *nix || Mac

etc..
