General question for programmers

How many times a week does a programmer generally program?

I want to be a good programmer but not sure how much do people usually jump on their computer and program. I go to college and I know others do too or have other things they do(maybe gaming?) so just wondering with all other distractions how much time do you put aside to program or find yourself programming?

Not sure if this is the right place to put this but I figured it would be better than the programming sections because its just a general questions.

I program at work so quite a few hours every week. In terms of challenging stuff that I do for fun, I do a lot less.

I always wanted to know what a job in programming was like. I would like to get one but I only know the very few basics which is why I am wondering how many times I need to program to actually get it down and have enough knowledge to be an asset to a company

However, I am always still going over the program in my head.

I think I need to be more dedicated I guess. I waste a lot of time gaming on my down time. I think I need to focus on more productive things like programming

I program for work now so the amount of hours varies but i'd say 8-10 hours for work a day. Now my own stuff for languages that I like to use that's extra hours. Depending on current ideas and the problems at hand.

Eh, it depends on the program. Sometimes I'll get really interested in what I'm writing, and program 40-50+ hours per week on it. Sometimes I'll get really bored with what I'm writing and only program 1 or 2. But, on average, I'd say I do at least 15 hours of programming per week.

I have never been to school for programming, and enjoy it. As someone who studies from home, I spend at least 70+ hours a week programming on average. I spend my time learning however, and not really designing programs of my own.

6 or 7 days a week usually at least 6 hours a day.
In order to get really good at programming you have to code realistic useful programs on a regular basis and challenge yourself by learning new concepts.
For instance, I'm still not very good at image manipulation, so im going to make a "paint" program to learn the namespaces.
