I need to do some additional research on this.
Until I can home in on them, I read a few success stories about reporting the number that's harassing you to the BBB and the calls stopped within 72 hours. My suggestion is you do that for now. This is going to take some leg work.

You know I did a search on another number that came from Florida. I noticed that it was claimed to be a line that is dedicated through Bell South Telecommunications. A private company that was bought out by AT&T and renamed to AT&T Southeast. Same with ATX Telecommunications, LTD. I wonder how many of the numbers are owned from companies that were bought out, and renamed, or no longer exists.

I am assuming all of them.

O.k. update, I have been tracing a lot of the numbers from the list that was provided, and I called the phone companies to inform them of this.

Limdis are you able to copy and paste that list you have and e-mail it to me? Gonna see if there is a faster way to shut those numbers off so they can't be used. AT&T, and Bandwidth.com have already been informed, and they confirmed that the numbers in question was indeed through them. One person calling phone companies is going to take a LONG time.

O.k. Update, update. Called a telephone company, and she is searching all the numbers that we have in the list. So far EVERY number I read to her comes from Bandwidth.com. So about to call them back.

Thinking of which there are complaints on this company as well. Level 3 Communications Call Annoyance section. Anyone able to dig anything up on them?

I contacted two of the three service providers, and turned this list over to them. I hope this helps the companies find out whose numbers are being used or spoofed. The company PacWest took three times of repeating the same thing for them to get the clue, that only one number called me, but the others were recorded from the same group.

They thought it was necessary to define what caller ID spoofing to me. I find it interesting that they think they know more than I do when it comes to computer shit.

They aren't trained to think in terms of security. So unless they have outside experience dealing with similar issues it's like speaking another language; unfortunately.

Truthfully yeah I would love that other list. That way I can get the information of who it is from, and make sure they get the information. Even though it is not needed, I am a little concerned with a legit company getting a negative name, because of crap like this.

Also for someone who is trying to start my own company, I would personally appreciate if someone informed me of information like this. So yeah.....

This is one of the reasons I feel this is an autodialer. You can spoof numbers. I don't fully understand how they work so the need to research was mentioned earlier. But if it works anything like email spoofing there isn't much you can really do about it. After this is all said and done and you are pretty serious about shutting this guys down legitimately, take everything and file a report with IC3.

Drizna it's cool. I like having a reason to learn about things I've been meaning to but never got around to researching. As far as this scam is concerned it's not that big of a deal as far as time put into it. Sorry for the delay though I got held up last night. I'll Post the next list soon.

Limdis it's cool. I just felt like I was using you guys here on the site. I learned quite a bit about things, and if we could help people by getting this information out so other know, then I say it was worth it. *shrugs*

I didn't mean to sound like I was mad about something. Take your time, because you know what, you really don't need to do this at all for me.

There is one other piece of information that I forgot to mention. A big piece of information. I called the number back, and it goes to either a voice mail, or an answer machine with the fake information on it. Should have mentioned this a while ago. Sorry.
