([msg=70591]see Re: are you in a computer related field?[/msg])

I do computer restoration/virus removal/clean up, server and computer security on a lower level, hardware instillation, and basic-moderate networking.

Example, you need me to clean up a virus, install a new hard drive, set up a router (home or business), or do low level security protection on your servers and networks, I'm your man.

However, if you have, for example, a Korean cyber-terrorist attempting to take control of you systems and steal valuable information, I would suggest finding somebody else. I could have the common sense to disconnect you from the internet and all outside sources entirely however, but after that I wouldn't know what to do. Most people I know who want to work with computers want to be the guy that sets up the massive super security systems against that Korean cyber-terrorist, or hack some benign porn files for the military/government.

I do odd jobs in technology where I can get them, but I'm essentially a full time student, and am going to hopefully declare my double major in Computer Science, Math, and a minor in Spanish (just have to finish these stupid Gen Ed's).
Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning. -Rick Cook

Hobby. I might just switch to a computer-related field in the future though.

Going to be full CS student soon. Currently working in software development. Hoping to go into a full computer security career.

I wish for the same, but it seems there isn't a huge demand for high end computer security specialists at the moment. I would need to do more training anyways.
