Preparing for ACTA?

Post by Capacx on Fri Jan 27, 2012 2:37 pm
([msg=63916]see Preparing for ACTA?[/msg])

So, while SOPA and PIPA gained the attention of the media, ACTA slinked it's way into the background....
My question to you guys is, what exactly can I do to avoid having my internet usage monitored by my ISP or any other parties. I'm not really familiar with the best proxies to use, or other habits I can start in addition to using proxies.
Any tips? and here's a video on ACTA.
Also, feel free to discuss the bill....wanted to raise awareness about it, not just get a question answered

I would suggest you take a gander at TOR...

I actually have it downloaded, when do you use TOR personally? It's pretty inconvenient compared to something like firefox( if you are talking about the TOR browser, not sure if I can run TOR through firefox or something)

I only use it when dealing with personal information, though, if ACTA goes through, I'll be using it more frequently.

In my life i have tryed alot of ip-hiders and here you got a list with some iphiders..
(i have been trying alot most cause i wanted to see what's best and whats not)

Ip hiders:
- Hotspot Shield
- Auto Hide IP
- Platinum Hide IP
- Super Hide IP
- Hidemyip
- Real Hide IP
- Super Hide IP
- Easy Hide IP
- Free Hide IP
- Mask My IP
- Proxpn
- Ultrasurf

The better Ip hiders:
- anonymizer
- hidemyass
- Dold (a swedish site)

and then we got Tor ^^

Mac-Changer:
- SMAC
(i know more.. but this is the best according to me xD)

What of this do you guys think is the best ? =)

They really all do the same thing... And I really can't imagine why you would need all of those in the first place. If ACTA gets in-acted, then we'll talk. But right now that's like building a bomb shelter for a war that may never happen.
