Because it's Debian based, I'm assuming just like you would on Ubuntu:

sudo apt-get install recordmydesktop

For a graphical user interface use:

sudo apt-get install gtk-recordmydesktop


odds are if you don't know how to install software properly, you shouldn't be using backtrack. I suggest switching to Ubuntu first.
