I have a hunger for learning, its my biggest passion. I cant just know something i always want to know more and be better and contiualy improve, thats just me. Levels :P

My question is - is there anyone who is willing to give me advise and help where i get stuck, show me things and be a mentor to me for programming? - even if its just a guy i can e-mail questions i have to or someone i can talk to about this on MSN?

If your interested please PM me or get in contact.

A little about me - Im 18 now (just turned in March). I am a smart lad (except i phucked the last 3 years of my life). In school i WAS expecting A in Maths, and A in Science, B in most other subjects but i didnt do them because of a breakdown in my life. I had a Son young (at 15), my babymother stopped me seeing him, caused me a whole world of shit beleieve me and well basically in the last 3 years i have moved into a hostal (now in a flat) and thats about it! Im going on a media cource soon one of these scemes the Job Center ask you to do as a place called CSV soon. Im going to college in september to re-do my GCSEs, then im going to stay at college doing computing and goto college then uni.

Thanks in advance - Levels

Also anyone with the same interests as me get in touch with me, i want to get to know people who enjoy the things i do.

Well, why not, I'm usually quite bored (actually too lazy to do anything else, but meh...) after work, so feel free to poke me on MSN.
Logic #29: <my nick> + "sen" + <at> + "gmail" + <dot> + "com" :ugeek:

Apart from that, I'm on IRC frequently, usually on #htb or #help.

Oh, right: Anything but VB :P

Although I only took one year of VB it seemed to be fairly inferior to basically everything else. If you want Java help then I could help you out.

VB6 was a good language. Very simplistic by comparison to things like C++ and Java. I did it for two years at school and, personally, i though it was better for designing programs visually (excuse the pun): what i mean is, that you can design the programs interface graphically, and then add the code for each command button, message box, etc, later.
C++ is extremely complicated. I started doing Java at uni and found it hard at first, but know i find fairly easy.
If you need a hand with any VB or Java just let me know.
Also, at some point i'm going to look int C#, which mixes the best of C++ and the best of Java.

Good luck with the resists by the way.
(^_^) If you're reading this, I've just hacked your computer. 101.101.101.lol (^_^)

For C++, either get Visual Studio/Visual C++ Express or Code::Blocks/DevCpp. In case you're fine with Notepad/your-Texteditor-of-choice, use GCC/G++ from the MinGW Project, Cygwin or any other free C++ Compiler.

For Java, theres a couple of IDEs aswell (Eclipse, JBuilder, Visual J# also works somewhat), besides the JDK from Sun. Most IDEs ship with it, so you're ready to go there.

For VB, if you try to get Visual Studio, you should probably look into C# rather than Java (and probably ditch VB too!).

You didn't solve my Logic mission yet tho :P

I use Visual Basic 2008, it's fantastic! But if you wanna know something about VB, look this site: http://visualbasic.startpagina.nl/
The site is in Dutch, but the most links are English :D
I use VB08 every day, I'm making an anti-virus program :D

If you're having trouble for space on your hard disk for installing VB6 (like I did), you can install VB6 portable. Only 5.8 megs!
