Help needed !!!

hi logical,
thanks for having the patience to deal with me haha
at the moment i have SNORT to capture the incoming (malicious) traffic as that is the main objective for this.
as for creating users on the server and not caring about the server this is true how ever ive asked people not to mess with log files that SNORT would log but surely anyone coming in not from this site could run a muck on these files.
apart from that folder i don't really care once i can access them.
as for your idea with nmap thanks alot, but im afraid the use of nmap is the only thing i could accomplish with this idea not sure how i can create a batch file to keep triggering it.
to be honest i think my only real chance to get this going is you could possibly spread the word within the site of the ip address as people can not find me otherwise.

Well you could create a batch file to run nmap and copy log files to a discrete location with a discrete name and then run the batch file as a scheduled task every so many minutes to whatever you see necessary. This way if someone were to log in and delete the log it would be backed up.
