After reading this article, I have to wonder if it really was a flaw or a purposely made backdoor.

On average Apple takes just 91 days to fix security flaws after they are disclosed, Mr Krebs wrote.

Francisco Amato, the Argentinian security researcher who warned Apple about the problem suggested that "maybe they forgot about it, or it was just on the bottom of their to-do list".


Seems very suspicious that such a 'flaw' took 3 years to finally patch.

Not that I'd know much on the matter but it sounds intended to me. Thinking about it, if it's installed on almost every system it would be an easy way to monitor people.
