I could just say "WUT?" but anyway..

You don't provide much info on your modem card. Do you know what brand(i'm guessing it's globetrotter)/model etc it is? You'll need to know these in order to configure it & most importantly choose the correct drivers.

I've never seen a .cis file extension (at least not one that's an executable or part of package manager).

PC? Card? Modem? No way it all can be in-one. Anyway, I am currently running Fedora 12, and I have no clue what you are asking, specifically. Is it a router? Or is it actually an internet modem? Or is it a wireless adapter/NIC? You need to make sure Fedora can run your necessary hardware. However, once you do figure out what exactly the "pccardmodemwtf" is, please let us know. We can definitely assist.
hi am new so plz dont troll me or i report 2 the HTS mods ty

Fedora's default installation has certain low level aspects of network communications disabled via SeLinux context. For instance, if you have an ADSL modem using PPPoE, you'll have to enable PPP kernel options in SeLinux. I recommend using the GUI instead of mucking around in the terminal for this one. Another alternative... Debian is the awesome sauce.

A GUI is a common acronym for Graphical User Interface. You should probably do some studying about that on Wikipedia, Google, or whatever resources are available to you. If you have intentions of staying a member of any community built around computer science, it's going to come up in the future. So, absorb all you can.

Based on that question though, I'm going to give you my honest opinion, and I don't think you're ready to use Linux yet, at least not Fedora. If you are adamant about wanting to break into the Linux realm though, I would recommend you try Ubuntu instead. It will give you the feel for Linux, at the same time as being structured toward introductory needs. Though, sticking with an operating system you know sounds like the best bet right now. Study more about computers, and that will change rapidly. Good luck.

I know the modem work in ubuntu but it is supported by linux. What where you say about selinux if i am right that could be the prob.
